“Ready Chief”, a down-tempo release by Anahata Sound is step one to launch a new electro-pop moniker “HOPSCOTCH” in 2011. “I’m going to be focusing more on HOPSCOTCH, so I wanted to give fans another lil swim in my soft side before I high dive.” No doubt from her diverse first album “Scores of Silence” that Anahata has set herself up for a long career full of sonic exploration and growth. The vibrant new EP “Ready Chief” colors the ears with organic magic & stellar production. Mastered by John Greenham at Studio 1340 in San Francisco. Cover art by Leighton Kelly.
“Birds n Bees for a LIL G” a collaboration with Wazulu, is a dedication to her vision of freedom for the youth she has worked with in Oakland Juvy Halls leading meditation groups.
“Heavens Choir” is a collaboration of spoken word featuring Killah Priest (Wu- Tang), J. Human and Anahata, with jazz legend Benny Green on the piano. The Hip-Hop/ Spoken-word set to Greens piano & Anahata’s production, cooks up a melting pot of non cliché spiritual sonic display.
The EP is a dedication to the people of the First Nation. Given Anahata’s native ancestry and extensive travel of the US, she feels it is of up-most importance to honor the native peoples of America through song and dance.
